Life as a temp seems really easy in theory. You get to swan in at bang on your starting time and leave on the dot too. In a different office week to week. It’s exciting and liberating but at times lonely too. The familiarity and companionship you get from working with the same people is no longer there. No more coffee dates, at times sitting on your own in the lunch room. And yet, I can’t help but enjoy it. There is a sense of freedom which can be so difficult to find. You get to be a little anonymous too, secure in the knowledge that as small as NZ is, you are still mingling and working with a variety of people.
